A worldwide leader in ship manufacturing, logistics, and services was awarded several new government vessel construction contracts with aggressive timelines. The client needed to rapidly scale its design and engineering teams, but their local candidate pool could not meet the hiring demand. The company also faced an additional challenge: it had never managed remote workers before. 

To ensure project success, the client turned to System One to recruit, onboard, and manage a team of remote Designers, Engineers, and Naval Architects who could contribute immediately to critical shipbuilding initiatives.

Our Marine team partnered with the client’s human resources, engineering, and operations departments to design a scalable hiring plan. We recruited both local and remote contractors nationwide and took full ownership of onboarding and logistics. 

As part of our process, System One’s internal IT team formatted and installed secure government-approved software on all contractor laptops. We managed the shipping and return of laptops, monitors, and other equipment to ensure each professional could work remotely in compliance with government security requirements. 

Beyond staffing, we also administered payroll, benefits, and tax compliance across multiple states, removing significant administrative and legal complexity for the client. 

System One quickly became the client’s #1 staffing firm for this program. At one point, we supported up to 28 remote contractors, many of whom have remained on assignment for over two years.
