As a global food manufacturer, our client’s name is synonymous with delicious, high-quality products. Over the course of more than 25 years, System One has served as a primary vendor to supply staffing services and contingent workforce management. Over that time, System One has emerged as the firm’s go-to partner for IT staffing and project management. Of particular note, we have successfully managed five global PC deployments and continue to support ongoing upgrades.

Client Scenario

Based on our longstanding relationship and recruiting expertise, the client turned to System One to manage multiple large-scale PC deployments. The scope of work for the first rollout encompassed 5,000 computers across campuses, plants, and field sales offices in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. To minimize downtime, ensure consistency, and streamline costs, the client valued System One’s ability to manage the project start to finish as a single source provider.

In addition to recruiting the IT professionals necessary to complete the work, System One assigned a dedicated project manager to oversee each deployment. We took a leadership role in pre-stage planning, working closely with the firm’s IT executive team on scheduling, project specifications, workflows, troubleshooting, and training.

Building a Plan for Success

Each of the rollouts represented up to 5,000 individual units, and included custom image installation. Two of them (the first and the most recent) also included an upgrade to a new operating system. The schedule was structured to allow for simultaneous multi-site deployments. Currently, a small deployment team remains active supporting upgrades for out-of-warranty units across the client’s geographic footprint.

The work doesn’t end with the successful boot-up of the new computers; our onsite team provides post-rollout training and technical support. That’s why we take extra care to identify candidates with both technical and interpersonal skills and to thoroughly train them to handle a wide variety of end user questions and concerns.

Responsive IT Staffing Support

In addition to these projects, System One provides ongoing IT staffing. We are the sole staffing partner for the company’s help desk function, IT business office, IT training and communication, AV support, and security. At any given time, we have approximately 100 specialized IT consultants on board for special projects and ongoing support across a range of technical functions.
