System One's Renewable Energy division took on a critical Repower project that required extensive wind turbine blade repairs, the application of LEP, and service support for component swaps and tower upgrades. The project's scope shows our expertise in maintaining and extending the life of wind turbine assets, which is essential to operational efficiency.

The project presented multiple challenges, including a tight deadline and unfavorable weather conditions. Furthermore, blade damage and downtime can severely impact energy output, and without effective cost management, repairs could become costly. To meet these challenges, System One had to deliver swift, high-quality repairs while adhering to prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. With extensive experience servicing all major wind turbine platforms, such as GE, Siemens, Nordex, and Vestas, System One mobilized a team of over 200 skilled field technicians across the US and internationally. We have a long-standing history of managing renewable energy projects, including over 500 wind farms worldwide, making us a trusted partner for complex, large-scale projects.

A core aspect of this project was our commitment to workforce development. With their wealth of experience, journeymen technicians mentored apprentices, providing them with hands-on training, constructive feedback, and professional guidance. This dynamic not only allowed apprentices to gain confidence and valuable skills, but also inspired them to contribute to the project's success. The partnership between apprentices and journeymen ensured high-quality work and a pipeline of skilled professionals for the renewable energy sector.

System One addressed the industry's pain points by offering swift assessment and repair services, minimizing turbine downtime, and enhancing operational efficiency. Our predictive maintenance approach helped reduce unexpected repair costs, while our apprenticeship program and Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) tackled the challenge of developing a skilled workforce. The RETC provided certified, accessible training to meet the growing demand for renewable energy technicians.

Despite the aggressive timeline and weather obstacles, System One successfully completed the project on time, satisfying both prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. The collaborative efforts of our journeymen and apprentices resulted in high-quality blade repairs and service support, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and reducing downtime.
